Andrew Short is making progress on the BTO Sports – KTM bike as he posted the 10th fastest time of the day in qualifying. In his heat, Short would use the power from his FMF Racing exhaust to get a great start and lead early on. He would eventually finish 7th, after a mistake on the rough Daytona track while battling with Ken Roczen for the lead. In the main event, Short started outside the top ten and from there he moved up a few spots and down a few spots to eventually end up with his 12th place finish. Short still secures 8th in points going in to Indianapolis this weekend.
Matt Goerke felt at home on the Daytona track, as he would post the 15th fastest time of the day in qualifying. As the gate dropped for his heat race, the Pirelli Scorpion MX tires would propel Matt to a 6th place finish. In the main, Matt would get a good start and would run inside the top ten in 7th until midway where a misstep in a corner would stop his progress. After taking a bit to get going he put his head down and caught back up to finish 11th. Going in to Indianapolis, Matt is 11th in points.
“Daytona wasn’t what we were hoping, but the positive is everyone is healthy” said team manager Forrest Butler “We are looking forward to Indy and putting the BTO Sports – KTM bikes up front.”
