Dear rally friends and fans of Egypt,
Egypt, a majestic country and an ancient civilization, has been experiencing a deep transformation of its political and social life over the last three years. No major change is painless and Egypt’s past few weeks of intense events are no different.
However, everything today suggests that the worst is over and that stability and modernity will soon be the future values of this strong Country.
For over 30 years Egypt’s magical desert has been the homeland of the Pharaons Rally, the prestigious race of the Cross Country Rally World Cup and Championship. To organize and participate in this international event is an adventure that we have always cherished and enjoyed sharing with all the racers and their teams. Above all, we have always ensured that it is carried out with the utmost professionalism and with immense passion.
Today, we still solidly have the support of our business partners, of the local and military authorities and of the international federations, to proceed with organizing the rally as scheduled this coming October. And indeed, all signs reflect that Egypt could be ready to offer a safe setting to hold an exciting race for all international teams.
However, we also understand the concerns that participants and their families have, and we wish to respect and give priority to that admissible concern. With this in mind and after consultation with the Egyptian Authorities and the International Federations (FIM and FIA) we decided to postpone the 2013 edition of the Pharaons Rally to May 2014. This is a difficult decision due to circumstances beyond our control, but with your support and trust we can continue to share our passion in the best conditions.
We sincerely thank the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism, the International Federations (FIM and FIA) and the competitors who have given us their support, understanding, approval and enthusiasm for the new date.
The Pharaons Rally lives on thanks to all of you.

Cari amici sportivi e amanti dell’Egitto, il paese e l’antica civiltà egiziana, così prestigiosi nel corso della storia, stanno vivendo da circa tre anni una profonda trasformazione della società e della politica.
Nessun cambiamento epocale avviene senza dolore e l’Egitto ha visto nelle ultime settimane avvenimenti molto intensi riportati dalle TV e dai giornali di tutto il mondo. Tuttavia oggi tutto suggerisce che il peggio è passato e che la stabilità e la modernità saranno presto i futuri valori del Paese.
Sono più di 30 anni che il Pharaons Rally – prestigiosa gara di Coppa e Campionato del Mondo dei Rally Raid – si svolge nella cornice dei deserti egiziani, tra i più maestosi del mondo.
Organizzare e partecipare a un simile evento internazionale è un’avventura che amiamo molto e che vogliamo continuare a condividere con grande passione e la migliore professionalità. Rimane immutato al momento il sostegno dei nostri partner, delle Autorità egiziane politiche e militari e delle Federazioni internazionali per svolgere il Rally questo ottobre, come inizialmente previsto.
In effetti, i recenti sviluppi politici sono il segnale che l’Egitto sarebbe comunque pronto a offrire una bella gara a tutti i team internazionali, anche tra un mese. Ma sappiamo bene che la preoccupazione vostra e delle vostre famiglie sulla stabilità del Paese non si attenua in poco tempo.
Vogliamo quindi rispettare e dare priorità a questa comprensibile preoccupazione. Con questo spirito e dopo le dovute consultazioni con le Autorità egiziane e le Federazioni internazionali (FIM e FIA) abbiamo deciso di spostare l’edizione 2013 del Pharaons Rally a maggio 2014.
E’ una decisione difficile ma necessaria, considerate le circostanze che esulano dal nostro controllo. Ma grazie al vostro sostegno e alla fiducia accordata, possiamo continuare a condividere la nostra passione in condizioni migliori.
Ringraziamo sinceramente il Ministro del Turismo egiziano, le Federazioni Internazionali (FIM e FIA) e i concorrenti che ci hanno già dato il loro appoggio, l’approvazione e l’entusiasmo per la scelta della nuova data.
Il Pharaons Rally continua grazie a te. Viva il Pharaons Rally.
