BTO Sports KTM - Houston Race Report

Houston, TX (Apr.7) – BTO Sports, a leader in the latest motocross gear, parts and accessories, has announced the results of the BTO Sports – KTM team at round 13 of the Monster Energy Supercross series at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX Saturday night. With the debut of the Factory Effex limited edition BTO Sports – KTM white graphics, team riders Andrew Short and Matt Goerke lit up the Houston track.

Event Recap:

Andrew Short qualified 15th out of the practice session. He would get a good start in the heat race, but crashed hard on lap two when he hit a downed rider, dropping him to 12th at the red flag. After the restart, Short would use his KTM Factory Services engine to work his way through the field to finish 8th. He had his work cut out for him in the Main as he would get caught up in a first turn pile-up at the start. He would get back up in 18th and from there ride aggressively through the field, passing Josh Hill on the last turn of the last lap to claim 7th. Going in to Minneapolis, Short is 8th in points.

Matt Goerke was on the gas in qualifying as he secured the 9th fastest spot.  He would get a great jump off the gate in his heat, running in 4th  until a red flag came out for a downed rider.  After the restart, Matt would finish 5th  after battling with Ryan Dungey. In the main, the Pirelli Scorpion MX  tires hooked up as Matt would get a good jump out of the gate. He would battle inside the top ten until an altercation with Jake Weimer, sending both riders down.  Matt would get back up and finish the night in the 11th place.  Matt currently is 11th in points going in to the next round.

“Things are starting to come together” said Andrew Short “It was a technical track and I felt good out there. We made a few changes to the bike that worked well and I’m getting more comfortable on the bike each week.”
