World-first hydrofoil bike expands to the U.S. to meet market demand
After huge success in New Zealand, the award-winning company, Manta5 is set to bring its
innovative bike on water, the Hydrofoiler XE-1, to the U.S. from September this year.
With the intention of redefining both cycling and watersports, the Hydrofoiler XE-1 enables riders to plane across water surfaces, be it lakes, rivers or coastlines. Ultimately replicating the cycling experience on water.
Avid cycling enthusiast and Manta5 CEO, Greg Johnston says he’s excited to extend their market reach to the U.S. and anticipates strong demand.

In late 2017 Manta5 was launched into the global spotlight after a short video of the hydrofoil prototype went viral amassing 300 million views on Facebook alone, resulting in selling out of their initial New Zealand pilot production run in 6 months.
Utilizing hydrofoil technology, the Hydrofoiler XE-1 launches out of the water and foils along the surface allowing the rider to plane, turn and carve, with a maximum speed of 11 knots (12 mph).
Depending on how you want to ride, the Hydrofoiler offers three levels of adjustable electric assist modes: Training (low), Cruise (medium) and Performance (high).
Bikes are made from strong carbon fibre and aircraft-grade aluminium, making them light enough to carry and buoyant so they float in water.
This latest U.S. expansion means Manta5 is set to continue its vision of growing in popularity for the bike to move from leisure to competitive sport and to one day be raced at the Olympics.
