Andrew Short qualified 20th, but would bounce back in his heat race as the ODI CFT handlebars would allow him to control his way to a 4th place finish. In the main, Short hooked up out of the gate and would start up front. He would take a patient approach as Short ended the night in tenth place in only his second race on the new BTO Sports – KTM 450SXF machine. The main event itself was crazy with a bad crash causing a single file re-start just three laps in where Short had to line up and under trying conditions, try to get to the front. Short is solidly 8th in points heading to Daytona.
Matt Goerke had the Pirelli Scorpion MX tires hooking up and flying in qualifying to post up the 11th fastest time. As the gate dropped for his heat race, Matt blasted out of the gate and never look back to finish a strong 7th. His momentum came to a halt in the main as Matt would be involved in a mid-air altercation with Kyle Chisholm three laps in, causing a red flag. After the re-start, Matt would soldier on to a 15th place finish. Going in to Daytona, Matt is 11th in points.
“”I’ve got to do better than a tenth” said Andrew Short “I was right there and it was an ok night for me but a bit of a disappointment for me and the team that I couldn’t put myself into a better spot.”
